Hassan is the Regional Geologist for the North Central and Northeast regions of British Columbia. He provides regional expertise to industry, government, academia, and the public.

Education

Payam-e-Noor University, Iran (B.Sc., Geology, 2008)
Shahid Beheshti University, Iran (M.Sc., Economic Geology, 2010)
University of New Brunswick (Ph.D., Economic Geology, 2022)

Expertise

Hassan joined the BCGS in 2022 as the Regional Geologist for the North Central and Northeast regions of British Columbia. With more than 15 years of research and exploration geology experience, he has worked on a wide range of geological projects across different regions. His expertise includes the application of advanced geochronological and geochemical techniques, such as U-Pb and Ar-Ar geochronology, and various instruments like micro X-ray fluorescence (µ-XRF), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and Laser Ablation Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS). His recent research focuses on understanding the tectonic evolution and mineral deposit formation of northern Appalachian gold-antimony systems in southern New Brunswick. Before his Ph.D., Hassan spent several years researching iron oxide-apatite (IOA) deposits and taught economic geology, surveying, and field geology at Payame-Noor University in Iran from 2012 to 2017.
