Hassan is the Regional Geologist for the North Central and Northeast regions of British Columbia. He provides regional expertise to industry, government, academia, and the public for these regions.

Education

Payam-e-Noor University, Iran (B.Sc., Geology, 2008)
Shahid Beheshti University, Iran (M.Sc., Economic Geology, 2010)
University of New Brunswick (Ph.D., Economic Geology, 2022)

Expertise

Hassan is a geologist with more than 10 years of research and work experience in exploration geology and mining. He spent two years (2010-2011) researching iron oxide ore deposits in Central Iran. From 2012 to 2017, Hassan taught courses such as economic geology, surveying, field geology at Payame-Noor University of Iran. He also took part in mining projects for the Iranian Mining Engineering Organization. More recently, as part of his Ph.D. study, he applied U-Pb and Ar-Ar geochronology, mineral geochemistry, and isotopic geochemistry techniques to examine northern Appalachian gold systems and deposits in southern New Brunswick. He has applied diverse geochronological and geochemical analytical devices such micro X-ray fluorescence (µ-XRF), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Electron Microprobe (EMP), and Laser Ablation Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) to his work, and used portable XRF devices for in-situ real-time geochemical analysis.
