Forest stand activities that may impact range biodiversity objectives include:
- Old growth — (PNC) — maintain old growth characteristics
- Potential harvest area — maintain open canopy; consider restocking at lower density
- Area of forest encroachment — manage with precommercial thinning and prescribed fire to restore natural plant community
- Riparian area — manage to maintain natural vegetation corridors of deep rooted riparian species
- Grassland — manage for deep-rooted perennial grass species
