Animal Health Canada is a national organization that brings together animal industries, with federal, provincial and territorial governments to work together to achieve a responsive farmed animal health and welfare system in Canada. Animal Health Canada divisions include:

• Emergency Management: practical resources for commercial and smallholder producers on planning for animal health emergencies
• Canadian Animal Health Surveillance System: National coordination of animal disease surveillance through expert networks and information sharing, includes podcasts, dashboards, factsheets and other information about animal diseases in Canada
• National Farmed Animal Care Council: Welfare codes of practice for the care and handling of farm animals
• Canadian Livestock Transport: Training for producers and livestock transporters on safe animal transport 

The Western Canadian Animal Health Network (WeCAHN) is the animal health surveillance and intelligence network in western Canada, detecting and sharing animal disease trends and best practices.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is the agency that oversees federal government programs and services to mitigate risks associated with animal diseases and to protect the health of Canada's animal resources.
