Webinar series for local government staff

Last updated on February 8, 2024

In November 2023, new legislation was introduced to amend the Local Government Act and the Vancouver Charter to increase housing supply:

  • Bill 44: Housing Statutes (Residential Development) Amendment
  • Bill 46: Housing Statutes (Development Financing) Amendment Act
  • Bill 47: Housing Statutes (Transit-Oriented Areas) Amendment Act

The Province is hosting a series of webinars to support local government implementation of Bills 44, 46, and 47. Each webinar is designed to support local government staff by providing technical overviews of the requirements from legislation and regulations and a question-and-answer period. Following each webinar, presentations will be made available on this page. Webinars will be recorded and made available, when possible, for those unable to attend.

The first set of webinars delivered through January focus on providing high-level information about the new legislation and on the technical details for small-scale multi-unit housing and transit-oriented development areas to support implementation by June 30, 2024.

Upcoming webinar schedule

Further webinars for Housing Needs Reports and other initiatives will be announced in the coming months. Be sure to subscribe to updates to this page.
