Office of the Wet'suwet'en Society

Current activities

  • Office of the Wet'suwet'en Society is a central office for the Hagwilget, Moricetown, Nee Tahi Buhn, Skin Tyee and Wet'suwet'en First Nations created to offer services in the areas of land and resources, fisheries and wildlife, social services and treaty negotiations. Three of the 5 FNs are in the B.C. treaty process.

Treaty stage

  • Stage 4 - Negotiating an Agreement-in-Principle: Moricetown Band and Hagwilget Village Council make up the Wet’suwet’en treaty group, which is engaging with community members as part of a multi-year Treaty Related Measure on governance and constitutional development within the B.C. treaty process. Wet'suwet'en First Nation is also in Stage 4 as part of the Carrier Sekani Tribal Council treaty table. CSTC negotiations are currently on hiatus.

Completed agreements

  • None in treaty.

Other negotiations

  • First Nations that are part of the Office of the Wet'suwet'en Society have negotiated agreements outside the treaty process. The Office of the Wet'suwet'en Society was not involved in these negotiations.
