In the evening of September 2, there was a fire at the Emterra Environmental Ltd in Kamloops.

Kamloops Fire Rescue used water and fire fighting foam to respond to the fire. Some water and fire fighting foam runoff entered the South Thompson River. 

The fire is extinguished.

A Response Officer from the Ministry of Environment and Parks attended the site.
