Most Recent Update

September 16, 2020 - 9:00 am 

On September 13, 2020, a fire was reported in New Westminster along the pier. The New Westminster Fire Department contained the fire late in the evening on September 13 and remained onsite with the Vancouver Port Authority. Canadian Coast Guard attended the site to undertake an environmental assessment. At this time, there is no debris of concern or fuel sheen. 

The local health authority and First Nations have been notified. 

An Environmental Emergency Response Officer (EERO) with B.C. Ministry of Environment & Climate Change Strategy (ENV) will continue to monitor the incident.
