A response contractor and environmental consultant continue response activities on site.

Onsite operations to support the containment and delineation of contaminants continue. No indications of groundwater impact have been observed. Onsite monitoring activities continue.

May 12

Planning for the removal of the impacted ground and mitigation of contaminants is ongoing.

May 11

The estimated amount of diesel released has been updated to approximately 4 000 liters.

A response contractor and environmental consultant continue response activities on site.

Onsite operations to support the containment and delineation of contaminants is underway.

Soil sample analytical results have been received and reviewed to applicable standards. Some samples showed contaminant levels over the standards.

The impacted ground remains protected from precipitation to limit further migration.

Planning for the removal of the impacted ground is ongoing.

A response contractor and environmental consultant continue response activities on site.

Assessment of the impacted ground and potential impacts to ground water continue. Analytical results from initial soil and groundwater samples are pending and will be reviewed once received.

The impacted ground remains protected from precipitation to limit further migration.

May 7

A response contractor and environmental consultant continue response activities on site. All the spilled material that did not absorb into the ground has been removed.

Assessment of the impacted ground and potential impacts to ground water continue.

Interior Health has issued an advisory for water users in the area.

Plastic sheeting has been placed over the impacted ground to limit the migration of contaminants due to precipitation.

Planning for the removal of the impacted ground is ongoing.

May 6

On the night of May 5, the Ministry of Environment and Parks (ENV) received a report of a diesel spill at a Co-op cardlock fueling station in Scotch Creek, B.C.

The spill occurred during fuel delivery operations. The estimated volume of released material is 15 000 liters.

A response contractor and environmental consultant have been retained by the fuel transport company.

The response contractor initiated onsite response on the night of May 5. The environmental consultant is mobilizing to the site.

Onsite response actions continue today, May 6.

An ENV Response Officer is attending the site today.
