Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement

Last updated on June 24, 2021

The Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) entered into force on July 1, 2020, modernizing and replacing the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). The value of B.C. exports to the U.S. and Mexico in 2019 was over $22 billion. The CUSMA preserves B.C.’s important preferential access to the United States and to Mexico and ensures that the vast majority of North American trade will continue to be duty free.
