Green Municipal Fund - Municipal Plans

Last updated on September 1, 2020

Description

The Green Municipal Fund (GMF) offered by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) provides funding and knowledge services to support sustainable community development. GMF-supported initiatives aim to improve air, water, and soil, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

They support examples of leadership and innovation by championing initiatives that can generate new lessons and models for municipalities of all sizes and types in all regions of Canada. These initiatives offer significant environmental benefits, a strong business case and social advantages, complemented by local policies and measurement systems.

Municipal plans support sustainable community development and strive to help municipalities progress further in meeting their sustainability goals by funding action-oriented plans that build on previously completed sustainable community plans or strategies.

Eligible plans:

  • Sustainable neighbourhood action plans
  • Community brownfield action plans

Special Requirements

GMF funding for plans is available to all municipal governments and their partners. For more information, visit FCM's funding opportunities.
