Description

The Homelessness Community Action Grant Program provides one-time funding to support local planning and collaborative initiatives to address homelessness. The program supports community-based action including demonstration projects, partnerships, research, and other collaborative efforts.

The program is designed to:

  • Build understanding of community-level needs and emerging issues
  • Address specific needs of distinct populations experiencing homelessness
  • Respond to service gaps for those who are homeless or at risk
  • Foster local innovation and capacity-building
  • Support positive outcomes at both individual and community levels

Eligibility requirements

Eligible applicants include:

  • Community-based organizations
  • Non-profits
  • Local governments
  • Indigenous organizations
  • Other groups engaged in homelessness-related work

Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to collaborative, community-driven approaches and show how their project addresses local needs or service gaps.​
