Jessica’s primary duties are reviewing mineral and coal technical assessment reports for compliance with the Mineral Tenure Act and the Coal Act, as well as maintaining the COALFILE and ARIS databases.

Expertise

Jessica joined the BCGS in 2015 as a Mineral and Coal Assessment Geoscientist. Previously, Jessica worked as an exploration geologist throughout western and northern Canada on a variety of projects and mineral deposit types. During this time, she completed her MSc degree at UBC (MDRU) on the Red Chris Cu-Au porphyry deposit in northwestern BC. Before joining the BCGS, Jessica spent 8 months working with the BC Government as an Inspector of Mines, Permitting (Smithers).

At the BCGS, Jessica is responsible for reviewing mineral and coal technical assessment reports for compliance with the Mineral Tenure Act and the Coal Act. Alongside of this, Jessica is the custodian of the COALFILE database, and also works to maintain the ARIS (Assessment Report Indexing System) database. Jessica provides expert client support, assisting the public with submitting technical assessment reports that are in compliance with the Acts.
