Jessica Norris, M.Sc., P.Geo.
Senior Mineral Resource Geoscientist
Jessica is responsible for managing the delivery of public geoscience and mineral resource information. She leads the mineral resource group, to approve and manage assessment reports, compile mineral occurrences, archive exploration technical documents, and update, integrate and improve mineral exploration and resource inventory data.
Education
University of Alberta (B.Sc. Honours, 2006)
University of British Columbia (M.Sc., 2012)
Expertise
In 2023 Jessica took on the role of Senior Mineral Resource Geoscientist to coordinate efforts to maximize efficient and effective development and use of geoscience databases and tools. Jessica joined the BCGS in 2015 as the Mineral and Coal Assessment Geoscientist where she was responsible for the review of mineral and coal assessment reports and maintained the ARIS and COALFILE databases. Previously, Jessica worked as an exploration geologist in western and northern Canada on a variety of projects and mineral deposit types. During this time, she completed her M.Sc. degree at UBC (MDRU) on the Red Chris porphyry Cu-Au deposit.
