Don is primarily responsible for reviewing mineral and placer assessment reports from throughout the province for compliance with the Mineral Tenure Act and assists in maintaining the ARIS (Assessment Report Indexing System) database.

Expertise

Don joined the BCGS in 2023 after eight years as Senior Inspector of Mines (Permitting) in the Southwest Region. Don has more than 25 years experience working as an exploration geologist primarily focussed on volcanogenic massive sulphide, copper-gold porphyry, and lode gold-silver deposits in the Kitsault-Stewart-Dease Lake region of northwestern BC, as well as remote parts of the South American Cordillera. He also has direct work experience in terrain stability and hydrogeology in western Canada.
