Crown Land & Water

Crown land is land (or land covered by water like rivers or lakes) that is owned by the provincial government. This type of land is available to the public for many different purposes – from industry to recreation and research.

Land Use Planning

Ninety-four percent of British Columbia is comprised of provincial public land. The purpose of land use planning is to develop land use direction for public land and to guide provincial management decisions that meet economic, environmental, social and cultural objectives.​
