Gender Based Analysis Plus (GBA+) is a process for analyzing how women, girls and gender diverse individuals are likely to experience public policies and initiatives differently than men or boys.
It recognizes that a person’s gender intersects with other identity factors (such as race, age, Indigeneity, ability, and sexuality) as well as with larger societal factors (such as racism, ageism, colonization, ableism, and heteronormativity) in ways that shape how they experience public policies and initiatives.
B.C. is recognized by our federal, provincial, and territorial partners as a leader in GBA+. Since its adoption by the B.C. Government, GBA+ has contributed to a range of improvements, including:
