French-speaking jury trials

Last updated on December 14, 2020

Francophone accused persons have the right to be tried by a judge and jury who speak French. French-speaking jury trials are very rare in B.C.

It’s important to ensure the French-speaking juror list is updated, so that French-language jury trials can be provided when directed by the Court.

French-speaking British Columbians can request that their name is entered in the database used for summoning individuals for French-speaking trials. The information you provide will be kept confidential.

Add your name to the French speaking juror list.
