Isolation Allowance Fund

The Isolation Allowance Fund (IAF) is available for physicians providing necessary medical services, in eligible Rural Practice Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) communities with fewer than four physicians and no hospital, who do not receive Medical On-Call Availability program, call-back or Doctor of the Day payments.

In 2008, the B.C. Government and Doctors of BC agreed to a review of rural physician programs in order to assess the effectiveness of the programs and identify opportunities to enhance and streamline the programs. Read the report, which includes 90 recommendations that are being implemented.
