Supervisors for Provisionally Licensed Physicians

The Supervisors of Provisionally Licensed Physicians Program provides compensation to supervising physicians who are assigned by a health authority to assess the knowledge, competencies, and clinical skills of provisionally licensed physicians who reside and practice in Rural Practice Subsidiary Agreement communities.

Programs objectives:

  1. To help alleviate the financial and related burdens experienced by physicians who travel and/or forego their own practice time to provide supervision to provisionally licensed, rural physicians.
  2. To assist health authorities in recruiting and retaining physicians, including provisionally licensed physicians, in rural B.C. communities.
