The Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) submits criminal record checks and vulnerable sector checks through the Criminal Records Review Program (CRRP).

Who needs a criminal record check

  • MCFD employees who work with children
  • Employees of Delegated Aboriginal Agencies who work with children
  • Employees of MCFD contracted agencies who work with children
  • Approved foster caregivers

Submit a criminal record check

The applicant and organization must complete Form CRR011: Consent to a Criminal Records Review Act (CRRA) check (PDF, 139KB).

Applicants can't submit their own forms. Organizations must submit them on the applicant's behalf by email or fax. No coversheet or ID is required.

Email

  • Scan the consent form as a PDF or TIF file. Make sure the pages stay in order
  • When there is one form, use the applicant’s name for the attachment (for example, JOHNDOE.pdf)  
  • Use the subject line “MCFD submission” ​
  • Email to criminalrecords@gov.bc.ca

Fax

  • Faxes must include pages 1 and 2 in order
