Celebrating British Columbia
Provincial honours and awards are a memorable and distinctive way for the government of British Columbia to thank and pay special tribute to those British Columbian's whose lives exemplify excellence and achievement of the highest order.
British Columbia’s historic places – buildings, structures, landscapes, historic districts and other places of heritage value – are crucial to our understanding and appreciation of the identity and character of our communities. By conserving and celebrating these places, we contribute to the future of our communities.
Several provincial symbols have been established to highlight unique and important elements of B.C.
To mark the 150th anniversary of Canada’s Confederation, the Government of British Columbia is launching a funding program to celebrate B.C. communities and their contributions to Canada through an $8 million investment in museums and heritage sites throughout the province.
