The Government of British Columbia invests more than $60 million on artists and arts and culture organizations each year through a variety of grant programs and initiatives.
- BC Arts Council: Established in 1995, the BC Arts Council serves as the B.C. Government's primary funding and development agency for the arts, allocating $24 million each year through an independent peer review process. The BC Arts Council approves almost 1,500 grants annually to applicants from more than 200 communities throughout British Columbia. Since 2001, the B.C. Government has invested more than $283 million through the BC Arts Council to support British Columbia's artists, arts and cultural organizations.
- Community Gaming Grants support the delivery of community organization programs that benefit the citizens of British Columbia. Approximately $17.5 million in community gaming grants are allocated annually to eligible non-profit organizations. Applications related to arts and culture are accepted between Feb. 1 and May 31.
- Creative BC assists British Columbia’s creative industries including film production, music, digital media and publishing.
