Youth Court

Youth who have been charged with committing a crime and go to court attend the Youth Justice Court, which is part of the Provincial Court of B.C.

People who commit crimes when they are 18 or older are considered adults and are dealt with in an adult court. Although an accused youth may attend a youth justice court, they can still receive an adult sentence after the evidence, including the witness and victim testimonies, are heard and the court has issued a finding of guilt.
