With reference to your letter of November 29, 1988 regarding the application of Sentence 3.1.8.1.(15).

We have the information submitted by yourself, but comments from the authority having jurisdiction indicate that this may be incomplete. Your sketch shows a firewall extending through a projecting, combustible, canopy, which would seem to be reasonable. However, from the Inspector's comments it appears that you have unprotected openings within 2.4 m of the combustible projection, in which case you contravene Sentence 3.1.8.1.(15). Other infractions are suggested by the Inspector, of a nature which cannot be ignored. Under the circumstances a copy of his letter is attached, and we recommend that you have further discussion with that authority on the outstanding points; if these cannot be resolved, then we will deal with the issue, subject to the receipt of full information.
