Rural General Practitioner Anaesthesia Locum Program
The Rural General Practitioner Anaesthesia Locum program assists general practitioners, with enhanced anaesthesia skills, in eligible rural communities to secure subsidized leaves from their practices for purposes such as continuing medical education and vacation.
The program pays locum physicians a guaranteed daily amount and travel time honorarium. The host physicians must submit a request form, through their health authority, to Rural Practice Programs, Ministry of Health, for consideration.
For information on host and locum physician eligibility, responsibilities, requests, and payment, please refer to the Rural General Practitioner Anaesthesia Locum Program policy (PDF, 188KB).
