Medical On-Call Availability Program

Last updated on July 23, 2019

The Medical On-Call/Availability Program compensates physicians who are part of a call rotation (or physician group) for coverage for providing new or unassigned patients requiring emergency care.

The MOCAP program is described in the Physician Master Agreement. As recommended in the 2013 Report of the MOCAP Redesign Panel, the Ministry of Health and the Doctors of BC are updating the MOCAP program. The update will ensure physician call groups are compensated appropriately and consistently among health regions, acknowledging availability, burden and clinical need.

Please see the links in the sidebar for documents related to the MOCAP program and review.
