The Ministry of Finance provides outreach services to assist British Columbians in preparing for the new provincial sales tax (PST), which came into effect on April 1, 2013. Various services are offered as a part of the outreach program.
The ministry offers online interactive webinars to provide information about the return to a new BC PST. Topics include general PST application, registration and our new online services option, called eTaxBC.
Currently, there are no online interactive webinars scheduled. Please check back in the new year for online interactive webinar dates in 2014.
The ministry hosts webinars and seminars that provide education and information to specific industries about their obligations and entitlements under the tax legislation. Topics are tailored to describe how and when PST applies and include registration, eTaxBC, exemptions and refunds specific to the industry.
The ministry has conducted seminars across the province to assist businesses with the transition to the PST. Seminars were presented through local Chambers of Commerce and similar organizations.
If you represent a Chamber of Commerce or similar organization and are interested in hosting a seminar for your members, please email us at BCTaxOutreach@gov.bc.ca
