Pay a provincial violation ticket

Paying a ticket in part or in full is considered pleading guilty to the violation described on the ticket.

Online

If your ticket starts with the letters "E" or "S" you can pay online through PayBC, or by mail, by phone or in-person.

If you ticket starts with "A" you can pay by mail, by phone or in-person.

By mail

Pay with bank draft or money order by mail. Do not send cash. Include a copy of the front of the ticket with your payment – if you cannot provide a copy, include the following information:

• The ticket number (located on the top right corner on the front of the ticket)
• Your full name, address, driver's licence number and date of birth
• The violation date, plus the title of the act and section number, as shown on the front of the ticket

Bank drafts or money orders should be made payable to Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC).

Note: there is a $30 fee if your cheque is returned due to insufficient funds.

By phone

Call 1 888 343-2240 or 604 661-2240 – be sure to have your violation ticket ready.

In person

Make a payment using:

• Cash
• Bank draft
• Debit card
• Money order

Tickets can be paid at any of the following locations – be sure to bring a copy of the ticket with you:

• ServiceBC office
• Any court registry

In addition, tickets issued under the Motor Vehicles Act and Regulations can be paid at:

• ICBC driver licensing office and claim centres
• Autoplan broker offices

Deductions for motor vehicle tickets

Get a deduction for paying a ticket quickly.

Tickets for offences under the Motor Vehicle Act or Regulations qualify for a $25 deduction if the following conditions are met:

• The ticket is paid within 30 days of the date it was issued
• The ticketed amount is greater than $58
• The entire amount of the ticket is paid (partial payments do not qualify for a deduction)
• The ticket has not been disputed
