Human-Wildlife Conflict

Human wildlife conflict is a serious issue in British Columbia, and each year too many bears and other wildlife are killed because of human decisions and behaviour.

But there are simple things that we can do to help prevent human-wildlife conflicts. When endorsed and supported by a community, these activities have the power to prevent dangerous wildlife from entering our communities and becoming a public safety concern.

Predator conflicts and statistics

Conservation Officer Service’s predator statistics are updated monthly and summarize Report All Poachers and Polluters (RAPP) calls and the actions Conservation Officers took.

These statistics capture information for black bear, grizzly bear and cougar reports and responses from April 2011.
