BC Wildfire Structure Protection Program

The BC Wildfire Service provides additional support by assisting with the training and deployment of local government fire departments. Fire departments provide additional personnel and resources to protect communities from wildfires that threaten homes or other structures in the wildland-urban interface.

Information on wildfire training

Some questions have arisen regarding the delivery of wildland firefighting training in British Columbia.

After the previous catastrophic fire seasons, there is understandably a heightened interest in ensuring that B.C. is ready for fire suppression. However, there has been some confusion around what is considered official training and how it can be delivered or taken.
