Processing time

SPD works on replacement licences every business day. You can expect to get your new licence copy within 2 weeks or sooner. If you give SPD your email address, you can get an email copy while you wait.

Replace

Option 1: Online (Recommended)

Replacing online takes 15 minutes and is the fastest way to get your licence. Use a laptop or desktop for the replacement. Don't use a phone or tablet.

You need an access code to start. If you don't have one, Contact Security Programs Division.

Option 2: Mail

  1. Complete Form SPD 0516: Request for Replacement of Current Security Worker Licence (PDF, 267 KB)
  2. Pay replacement fee
  3. Mail the replacement form to Security Programs Division. Give an email address if you would like to get an email copy of your licence.

To pay with credit card:

  • Complete the credit card authorization form (attached to the replacement form)

To pay with certified cheque or money order (no personal or business cheques)

  • Make payable to Minister of Finance

After you submit

Security Programs Division (SPD) will:

  • Process the replacement
  • Mail you a new licence in about 2 weeks 

Cancel replacement

To cancel your replacement, contact Security Programs Division. The replacement fee is non-refundable.
