The company’s gourmet smoked salmon products are first marinated in dry white Okanagan wine, using a family recipe for brining that gives them a unique taste and texture. The products are thermally processed in a retort pouch or flexible can, contain no preservatives, require no refrigeration until opened, and are shelf stable for a minimum of five years.

Their wild pacific smoked salmon is available in a range of packaging sizes, including collectible cedar boxes that come printed with one of ten “Tradition & Legend” artwork designs celebrating Aboriginal history. All products are produced in a federally-inspected plant, managed with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points standards, which is regularly inspected by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency to ensure food safety. Their facility is also registered with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the European Union.

Located in Westbank, Little Miss Chief is a Registered Aboriginal company and woman-owned enterprise, established in 1995 by Ellen Melcosky, a member of Esketemc First Nation. Ellen proudly works to ensure First Nations culture and traditions are kept alive by using her family recipe for smoked salmon, updated by modern technology and packaging. The company is a proud supporter of local events and charities. All products are made using only sustainable wild ocean-caught salmon from areas approved by Fisheries and Oceans Canada. Little Miss Chief is also a registered member of the Ocean Wise program.
