Pedestrian and Cycling Safety Improvement Project

As pedestrian and bicycle traffic increases on the Stanley Park Causeway there is a need to balance the park’s natural environment with improved safety for causeway users.This project will improve pedestrian and cycling safety.

  • 2,400 cyclists travel on the Causeway per day on weekends, with 2,200 cyclists per day on weekdays during the summer months.
  • There are 10 times as many cyclists as there are pedestrians on the Causeway.
