Active Transportation Infrastructure Funding
Applications for the 2020/2021 intake will reopen in Fall 2019.
To encourage healthy living and to help address climate change, the Province of B.C. is cost-sharing Active Transportation infrastructure projects with local government through our Active Transportation program.
Active Transportation applications are evaluated on how they improve safety:
Funded projects promote Active Transportation to work, school or errands. Active Transportation infrastructure improves safety, reduces traffic congestion, and reduces greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Active Transportation infrastructure projects can also generate tourism-related traffic based on their proximity to amenities and points of interest for tourists, and through linkages to other communities.
This free resource, published by the B.C. government, will help guide communities in building safe, effective active transportation infrastructure.
This document will be updated over time to reflect evolving best practices. If you have input about the BC Active Transportation Design Guide, or would like to discuss it further, please submit your feedback to ActiveTransportation@gov.bc.ca
