Pay your oil and natural gas royalties and tax

Publication date: October 22, 2022

Oil and natural gas producers, also known as royalty payors, must pay all estimated and invoiced royalties by the due date for each production month they are payable.

Your invoice includes a payment due date.

Generally, payment is due at the end of the month, or the next business day if the end of the month falls on a weekend or a B.C. statutory holiday, of the month the invoice is issued in. Specific payment due dates are listed in the monthly Petrinex Reporting Calendars.

When you make a payment on an account, our system automatically applies your payment to the oldest debt on that account. You have to contact us if you wish to apply the payment to a different debt.

Overdue accounts are subject to interest.

Note: Interest was not charged on any outstanding balances from March 24, 2020, to September 30, 2020.
