Filing Requirements for Oil & Natural Gas Pipeline Operators
A pipeline operator controls the flow of oil, gas and other materials depending on the type of plant or facility in B.C. that carries:
- oil or natural gas products
- water intended for the production of oil or natural gas
Pipeline operators do not operate pipes that distribute natural gas in a community to consumers.
As a pipeline operator, you are required to file reports to verify your volumes.
BC-35, Crude Oil & Condensate Monthly Pipeline Statement
You submit a BC-35 to report the volumes of B.C. oil, condensate and pentanes-plus delivered through your systems. This information is used to verify BC-S2 delivery volumes and BC-S1 production volumes.
You must file your BC-35 by the 25th day following the month you receive the oil deliveries.
If the due date falls on a Saturday, Sunday or statutory holiday, the due date is the next business day.
If you file your reports after the due date, you will be charged late filing penalties.
Keep working papers and supporting documentation until you obtain written permission for their disposal in the event that you are audited.
