International Presence

The Provincial Government is supporting activities that raise the global profile of B.C. artists through the International Presence Program.

International Presence project grants are designed to increase the global understanding and appreciation of British Columbia’s arts, culture, creativity and innovation. Funding aims to develop relationships between B.C.’s arts and culture sector and its international counterparts under three main themes:

  • Arts promotion, representation and exposure: projects that expose the participants to new markets and relationship-building opportunities, or improve promotional capacity.
  • Incoming presenters and curators: projects that bring international presenters and curators to the province to increase their exposure to B.C. artists.
  • Artistic and cultural exchange: projects that are based in reciprocal, long-term relationships and result in cultural and artistic exchange, or unique collaborative or strategic opportunities.

Projects receiving International Presence funding will have a positive, long-term impact on B.C.’s creative economy, maximizing opportunities to showcase B.C. artists internationally in support of trade and investment objectives.
