Youth Firesetter Intervention
Youth firesetting is not a new problem nor does it affect just certain groups of people - children of all genders, ages and socio-economic backgrounds are engaged in youth firesetting. Their firesetting behaviours are predictable, progressive and often preventable. In most cases, they are ordinary children in need of strategic intervention and education.
The Youth Firesetter Intervention Manual is an easy-to-use guide that provides a standardized approach to youth firesetting intervention. It is hoped that the fire service and other stakeholders will use this manual as their primary intervention tool so that effective intervention can be offered to families in need.
