The RCMP
If your community does not have a municipal or First Nations police department then it is policed by the RCMP.

- The City of Surrey’s transition to its own municipal police department is well underway. While the Surrey Police Board and the Surrey Police Service undertake the necessary work to become an operational police agency, the Surrey RCMP municipal police unit remains the police of jurisdiction. Integrated Road Safety Units (IRSUs)
IRSUs use strategic traffic enforcement to reduce serious injuries and fatal collisions our roads. They are made up of full-time, dedicated traffic enforcement officers from both the RCMP and municipal police. IRSUs are located in the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, on Vancouver Island and in the North and Southeast districts of the province.
