Haida Gwaii Timber Supply Area
The Haida Gwaii timber supply area (TSA), formerly known as the Queen Charlotte TSA, lies entirely within Haida Gwaii, a group of about 150 islands approximately 90 kilometres west of British Columbia’s north coast.
It covers roughly 465,000 hectares, including the communities of Masset, Old Masset, Port Clements, Skidegate, Queen Charlotte City and Sandspit. The TSA is administered by the Haida Gwaii Natural Resource District.
The Haida Gwaii TSA’s current allowable annual cut (AAC) is 512,000 cubic metres, effective September 20, 2012. Generally, a new AAC is set at least once every 10 years.
