Building Smart with 2018 BC Building Code Changes

Description: BC Housing's seminars will focus on the new code requirements for single family and low-rise residential buildings in the BC Building Code 2018. Speakers will explore a variety of approaches to comply with new provisions for stairs, guards, sound transmission and seismic requirements, accessibility, energy and water efficiency standards, and other design elements. Changes to the BC Building Code are effective December 10, 2018.

Completion of this course counts towards three Group A Continuing Professional Development points for licensed residential builders.

Windows, Doors and Skylights Code Changes Webinar
December 16, 2015 | 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Description: The North American Fenestration Standard (NAFS) came into effect in December 2013 and the new energy and ventilation requirements for low-rise housing in December 2014.  These code requirements introduced major changes and some complex implementation challenges.  The revisions were developed through extensive consultation with the residential construction sector, including manufacturers of windows, doors and skylights, building officials, building specifiers and designers and building officials. This webinar covered these code changes.
