Teleconference Call Hearings

PARP Online Evidence Submissions System and Teleconference Hearing Option for PARP 2020

For Property Assessment Review Panel complaint hearings in 2020, the primary hearing method will be by Conference call supplemented by the PARP Online Evidence Submission System or POESS.

Conference Call Panels will conduct hearings by teleconference using evidence submitted in advance by the parties (BC Assessment and the Complainant). This hearing method focuses on the use of technology in property assessment hearings allowing the parties to the hearing to participate from the comfort of their home, office or almost anywhere in the world. Participating in your hearings using POESS and teleconference means no need to travel, especially in areas of the Province where travel can be dangerous or difficult in the winter months.

The Conference Call Panels will be located in:

  • Victoria
  • Prince George
  • Williams Lake
  • Cranbrook
  • Kelowna
  • Surrey
  • Courtenay
  • Vancouver
  • Nelson
  • Kamloops
  • Langley
  • Abbotsford
  • Nanaimo
  • Coquitlam

Both, the property owner (or other complainant) and BC Assessment will participate by teleconference, calling in to the Panel. These Panels will hear property assessment complaints related to all property types from all areas of the Province.

If you file a property assessment complaint for property that you do not own, that property assessment complaint hearing will be conducted by a Panel conducting in-person hearings or by written submission.

Limited numbers of in-person hearings will be conducted by select Panels throughout the Province. If you are unable to participate in a hearing on-line or in-person, you are more than welcome to submit your evidence and information by written submission for a Property Assessment Review Panel to consider.
