Organ Donor Registrations
Every year, more than 300 British Columbians receive an organ transplant at one of B.C.’s three transplant hospitals. Still, as organ-affecting diseases such as diabetes and hepatitis increase, the need for organ transplants continues to grow and many patients will die waiting for a transplant.
More than 85 per cent of British Columbians support the concept of organ donation, yet only 19 per cent have registered their decision.
Funded principally through the B.C. Ministry of Health, BC Transplant provides oversight for all aspects of organ donation and transplantation across British Columbia. Have you registered your decision on organ donation? You can register online today with a valid BC Care Card (personal health) number.
