- Web Property
- A web property is a point of presence (e.g. website, WordPress site, application, domain, etc.) on the web that is an asset of the B.C. government which is used as a communication or online service channel.
- Domains
- A domain is the name of the website (e.g. B.C. Government website, https://gov.bc.ca, DriveBC site: https://drivebc.ca, Seniors’ Advocate, https://www.seniorsadvocatebc.ca)
- A sub-domain is an additional, nested part to your main domain name. Sub-domains are created to organize and navigate to different sections of your website. You can create multiple sub-domains on your main domain.
- Sub-domains are used for B.C. government secured intranets and internal applications.gww.gov.bc.ca is an example of a sub-domain under gov.bc.ca
- Sub-directories are extension of a main domain. Intranet.gov.bc.ca/thehub is an example of a sub-domain (‘intranet’) and a subdirectory (‘thehub’)
- Intranets
- Internal websites that has restricted access to a limited group of authorized users (e.g. employees of the B.C. government)
- CMS Lite
- CMS Lite is the Enterprise Content Management System (software) used to manage the creation and modification of digital content.
