Section 71.1 - Records that Ministries Must Disclose
Section 71.1 provides the Minister responsible for the Act with the discretion to establish categories of records that ministries must make available to the public on a routine or proactive basis. It also gives the minister the authority to issue directions to ministries that specify how, and in what format, they must release the records. Records in these categories are to be made available to the public without an access request. Personal information may only be disclosed under this section if the disclosure would not be an unreasonable invasion of personal privacy as determined under section 22 of this Act.
This section only applies to government ministries, not other public bodies.
