Contract close out (also known as contract discharge) includes all the activities required at the end of a contract.
A contract should be closed when all of the services identified in the contract have been completed to the ministry's satisfaction, all payments made, and any warranties or other continuing obligations have expired.
Close out activities at the end of a contract include:
- Processing the final Contract Payment;
- Post Contract Evaluation, which include an evaluation of the deliverables, the contractor’s performance, and the performance of the government’s internal team; and
- File Close-Out
If unsure on how to complete a contract close out, contact the ministry’s Procurement Specialist.
