Vehicle Fleet General Information
COVID-19 Fleet Updates
Review important information on COVID-19 for vehicle fleet administrators and users.
The following general information pertains to the B.C. government Vehicle Fleet Management.
B.C. Government Vehicles
Refer to Core Policy and Procedures Manual
Executive Lease Vehicles
All executive leases have full collision and comprehensive coverage in addition to $2 million third party liability; therefore, ANY accident, incident, or act of vandalism MUST be reported to ICBC Dial-A-Claim at 1 800 910-4222, by the operator, regardless of who is at fault. Ensure claims are filed directly with ICBC by the executive lease operator.
Operators of vehicles insured under our executive fleet policy are required to report to ARI via email.
If the executive lease operator is not at fault, ICBC will assume the entire cost of repair with no deductible payable. However, if the executive lease operator is at fault the following deductibles, payable by the ministry to the repair facility, apply:
- Collision Damage: $300
- Comprehensive Claim: $300
Executive lease operators MUST also contact police in all cases of injury or death, total damage exceeding $1,000 ($600 if motorcycle involved), any hit and run damage, or when directed by ICBC.
In August and October of each year ARI sends out notices to most organizations with commercial fleet vehicles as a reminder of the requirement for commercial fleet vehicles to be inspected prior to the insurance being renewed. Each organization is responsible for ensuring the inspection is conducted and that vehicles failing the inspection are repaired and re-inspected. Visit the Vehicle Inspections and Standards webpage.
Ministries and health authorities (including the BC Ambulance Service and Community Living British Columbia) insurance is provided by the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia under a master policy issued to the Province.
Other organizations acquire insurance under separate policies.
Contact your fleet coordinator or, after-hours, call the ARI driver assistance number at 1 855 446-4274 prompt #4.
The Province of B.C. no longer maintains a service centre listing. The ARI vendor network provides maintenance and repair services for the government light vehicle fleet. The listing of the suppliers, both independent and those associated with a national account (e.g. tire shops), can be found by using the ARI Supplier Locator.
To arrange vehicle servicing the driver may contact one of the approved service centres in their area directly or may contact the ARI driver assistance number at 1 855-446-4274 prompt #3 for assistance in locating the centre best suited to do the servicing they require. ARI service technicians have complete information and pricing for each centre.
The service history of a vehicle is available on the ARI insights® website. Contact your ministry fleet coordinator for access to the ARI insights® website and apply for a password.
For additional information regarding the approved service centres or the ARI vendor network please contact your vehicle fleet coordinator or the email the Procurement Services Branch.
If a local vendor is not part of the ARI vendor network, and wishes to participate, they may contact ARI with the following information:
- Company Name
- Complete Company Address
- Company Phone Number
- Main Contact (Name, Phone Number, Email)
- Service(s) Provided
All new executive leased vehicles and monthly rentals acquired under the government master standing offer agreements are covered by a manufacturer’s warranty. The minimum basic warranty programs provide coverage for at least 3 years / 60,000 km.
Some manufacturers are also providing power train warranty coverage of 5 - 7 years / 100,000 – 112,000 km on select models, which may be subject to a $100 deductible charge, depending on the manufacturer.
Due to the variety and complexity of warranty programs and in order to accurately determine warrantable items and ensure expedient repairs are done by the appropriate facility, Procurement Services Branch is advising vehicle operators to consult with ARI using the driver assistance number at 1 855 446-4274 prompt #3, prior to calling the Manufacturer’s Roadside Assistance Program or directing repairs to a specific service centre.
Contact the ARI driver assistance number at 1 855-446-4274 prompt #2 for roadside assistance
ARI has a National Account tire program in place for the Province of British Columbia fleet. Through it, discounted pricing is provided at a product level by the tire manufacturer. The discounts range from 18% to 45% off of suggested list/retail price.
Below are lists of the National Account tire brands that fall under the program as well as some of the larger chain suppliers that accept the ARI cards (not including some of the smaller or independent suppliers that do as well).
National Account Tire Brands
Bridgestone / Firestone
Michelin / Uniroyal / BF Goodrich
Nokian (available at Kal Tire only)
It’s not possible to guarantee brand availability at each supplier location but, in general, the following suppliers will typically carry these brands (but not necessarily in all cases):
Fountain Tire – Goodyear
Kal Tire – Bridgestone / Firestone, Michelin / Uniroyal / BF Goodrich, Yokohama, Nokian
OK Tire – Bridgestone / Firestone, Toyo
Tire Craft – Michelin / Uniroyal / BF Goodrich, Toyo
Pricing Note: Tire pricing is provided by the tire manufacturer, not the supplier/store. Tire stores are not provided with the ARI National Account pricing. ARI pricing is applied by the tire manufacturer’s head office at the time of central billing to ARI.
