What do I need to know?

Note to provincial government purchasers: Furniture requirements under $1,000 may be purchased directly through the supply arrangements. Suitable, used furniture may also be available from Shared Services BC, Workplace Support Services. For furniture purchases greater than $1,000 contact Shared Services BC, Workplace Support Services.

Manufacturers and Resellers

Within each package, furniture products are offered from manufacturers listed below. Each manufacturer’s listing includes a list of authorized resellers – dealers who sell the manufacturer’s product in B.C. and who are authorized to sell through the supply arrangement. Product lines and discounts offered have been negotiated directly with the manufacturers and authorized resellers are required to offer the stated product lines and discounts.

Note that resellers change from time to time.
Each manufacturer’s listing includes a prices schedule and a value added services schedule.

Environmental Certifications

Furniture sold through the supply arrangements will be:

  • Independently third-party certified as compliant with the ANSI/BIFMA e3 Furniture Sustainability Standard at level® 1, or certified C2C Silver
  • In the event there are not more than two Offerors with level® 1 or C2C Silver certification on a required type of product, the requirement for certification on the affected product type(s) may be waived

How do I access these services?

  • Review manufacturer’s list of resellers and select the one closest to your location
  • Contact the reseller, tell them you want to purchase through the supply arrangement, and ask to access their catalogue, or discuss with them what you need
  • Review complete terms and conditions to understand the terms on which the supply arrangement is formed, including details about ordering
  • Submit an order to the reseller for your furniture selections and/or replacement parts
  • Confirm that prices invoiced reflect discounts offered by the manufacturer
  • For B.C. broader public sector employees, identify the organization for which you work. B.C. broader public sector organizations must have registered with the Procurement Services Branch to use the supply arrangements. If the public sector organization is not listed then view the supply arrangement eligibility guidelines or email the Procurement Services Branch.

Important Information

  • This supply arrangement expires December 31, 2017
  • Mobile and ARC Rotary Filing are not offered through the supply arrangements.  All provincial government purchasers who require mobile and ARC Rotary Filing (over $1,000 in value) must contact Shared Services BC, Workplace Support Services. (If purchasing mobile and ARC Rotary Filing, purchasers should contact their building superintendent or their building landlord to ensure that flooring weight/load ratio is sufficient.)
  • Moveable walls (pre-fabricated interior walls) are not offered through the furniture supply arrangements. All provincial government purchasers who require moveable walls (over $1,000 in value) must contact SSBC, Workplace Support Services. If purchasing moveable walls, purchasers should contact their building superintendent or their building landlord to ensure safe coordination with building’s HVAC system.
  • Orders exceeding $75,000 must be tendered through the Procurement Services Branch.
  • Access to the pricing/service description of this supply arrangement is available to all government ministries in the Province of B.C. and to public sector organizations registered to use supply arrangements. If the public sector organization you are with is not listed see if your organization qualifies.
  • Public sector organizations can obtain pricing from the commodity manager by emailing the Procurement Services Branch.
