Application Examples (Major Sections)

Section 2.1 - Project Title Example (75 characters max.)

District of Heart Pre-School French Recreational Programs

Section 2.3 - Project Description Example (2000 characters max.)

The District of Heart French population is rapidly growing. We currently have three immersion schools and one French school. Parents have expressed an interest in pre-school French recreational programs to provide their children with a bilingual cultural identity and ease their transition into immersion classes.

The project will run for four months and focus on providing activity-based opportunities for preschool-aged children. In a French speaking environment, the children will learn verbal and written language skills with an experienced instructor through scheduled activities, free play, song, dance and socialization.

The funds will allow us to increase our French resources material in our play and music library. In addition, we will organize social outings, which will increase French programs' visibility in the community.

Section 2.6 - Project Objectives Example (1500 characters max.)

The French program will deliver high quality French programming for children, building French language foundations for children entering French or immersion elementary schools.

The program will give children the opportunity to learn basic French language skills as well as broaden their appreciation and understanding of the French culture. In addition, the program will stimulate children’s Francophone identity through music and arts.

The activities will focus on improving their cognitive and physical health through social activities. The program will provide a hub for Francophone and Francophile families to connect, and will enable the French-speaking community to increase its visibility.

Section 2.7 - Expected Measurable Results Example (five points max.)

Reach class enrollment capacity of 10 children between the ages of three and five years old.

By the end of the session, children will be able to:
