ID options

You must use government-issued ID to set up your mobile card

The ID types accepted and the number of IDs you need depend on what type of BC Services Card you have.

Use a Photo BC Services Card

When you use a Photo BC Services Card, no additional ID is needed.

Use a combined BC Driver's Licence and Services Card

When you use a combined BC Driver's Licence and Services Card, no additional ID is needed.

Use a Non-Photo BC Services Card

When you use a Non-Photo BC Services Card, additional ID with a photo is needed.

If possible, choose additional ID with the exact name as on your BC Services Card. If your name is different, you can’t verify your identity by video. You will have to verify your identity at a Service BC location and bring with you:

  • Your additional ID
  • Documentation that shows why the names are different – such as a marriage certificate
