Partnerships and Community Alliances
The Connected Communities program responds to connectivity planning requests and community engagement needs to support communities in their broadband connectivity planning and engagement efforts.
The key outcome is to support local governments and regional districts in their community development efforts by ensuring communities understand the value of including connectivity in their community plans to identify emerging digital economy opportunities, rethink the delivery of services, including mobile health, and prioritize technology infrastructure investments that lead to improved quality of life for citizens.
The Connected Communities program works with a diverse set of multi-level government and cross-sectoral partners focused on accelerating the digital readiness of British Columbia. We do this by bringing together organizations, subject matter experts, academia, community groups, foundations, tech businesses, entrepreneurs, and passionate citizens interested in supporting rural communities, First Nations, and remote regions to learn together on how we can all achieve greater economic resiliency and community well-being benefits through connectivity.
